13 September 2025 (12:00 - 17:00) 14 September 2025 (12:00 - 17:00) A fully restored and equipped Royal Observer Corps underground nuclear monitoring post, which would have been operational during the Cold War to detect and report on a Nuclear Attack on the UK. At ground level there is also a full-size walk-in replica monitoring post and a main visitor cabin with a live stream audio/visual presentation for those visitors not wishing to climb down inside the monitoring post via a 15-foot vertical steel ladder. For Doors Open Days there will be guided tours of the fully restored underground bunker! These tours will last an hour and will start on the hour. Tours must be prebooked due to limited space within the bunker. The above-ground museum and replica monitoring post are suitable for all ranges, the tour is not suitable for children younger than 10. The underground bunker is accessed via a ladder and is not suitable for children under the age of 10. The museum and replica above ground buildings are wheelchair accessible. Due to uncertain weather, all participants should come equipped with warm clothing and sensible shoes.
