Paisley - The Walled Garden and Community Garden Barshaw Park
6 September 2025 (11:00 - 15:00) The Walled Garden is a beautifully maintained space featuring herbaceous and shrub borders, with ample seating for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Within the garden, you'll find a variety of interesting and unusual plants and trees. The Community Garden serves as a vibrant hub where locals gather to plant and cultivate a diverse range of produce and flowers. This welcoming garden invites anyone who wishes to share in its beauty and contribute to its growth. Volunteers from the Friends of Barshaw Park will present a short, interactive history of Barshaw Park's heritage. This engaging, light-hearted narrative will be enjoyable for visitors of all ages. Additionally, there will be a variety of nature-themed art and craft activities available for children of all ages to participate in. Guided tours will be offered from 11 AM to 12 noon and again from 2 PM to 3 PM. Each tour will last 45-60 minutes and will cover all areas of interest within Barshaw Park, including the history of the miniature railway, the beloved boating pond, and the evolution of Barshaw House and the Walled Garden from 1800 to the present day.
