7 September 2025 (10:00 - 13:00) Legerwood Church dates from 1127 and is one of the top six oldest churches in Scotland. Services are held on the first Sunday of each month. In 2027, we will be celebrating our 900th anniversary, services having been held there in an unbroken line ever since the church was founded. The 12th century chancel and arch are an outstanding example of ecclesiastical architecture of the time. The graveyard with surrounds the church looks out over open countryside and features many ancient graves and headstones including rare table-top tombs. We look forward to welcoming visitors to this ancient church nestled in the beautiful Borders countryside. Teas, coffees and home-bakes will be available. Visitors will be free to wander around the church and churchyard. On Sunday 7th September, our usual monthly service will be held to which all visitors are warmly invited. The service starts at 10.00am. One low step at porch entrance.
