Aperçu

The Canal district, between the port and the city centre, has always been a hub of commerce, industry and urban life. Our tour will take you on a journey of discovery of the witnesses to these activities. A comfortable building for the middle classes, stores, colonial food warehouses (as this trade developed between the wars), party venues and more. This is an opportunity to look up at the decor, the rhythm of the geometric shapes, the play of stones that adorn these facades. They reflect the enthusiasm of the post-war years, the boom in commerce, the dynamism of the arts... before the plunge into a darker period. In collaboration with 91e parallèle.
