Organ and trumpet concert
Régis Prud'homme and Dominique David
"Trumpet", "flute", these are two characteristic registers of the organ present on that of the church Saint Pierre de Trélazé. There are about ten, the sounds of this instrument are spread over 3 keyboards (2 manuals and 1 pedalboard). And yes, an organ is also played with the feet! A reservoir serving as a lung allows the instrument to sound, because for each note and for each timbre, a pipe is needed. Imagine: inside this organ, there are about 550 pipes. It takes a lot of breath. The comparison with the trumpet is all the more obvious. A trumpet player needs breath to make his instrument resonate. Sometimes brilliant and dazzling, sometimes soft and voluptuous, the sounds of the two instruments blend wonderfully. Dominique DAVID, on piccolo trumpet, and Régis PRUD'HOMME, at the organ, will put their breaths in unison in a program of baroque music. Programme- Concerto in Bb major by Vivaldi (trumpet and organ)
- Fugue in G minor by JS Bach (organ)
- Telemann’s sonata in D major (trumpet and organ) Entracte.
- Sonata in D major by Corelli (trumpet and organ)
- Toccata and fugue in D minor by JS Bach (organ)
- concerto in Eb by Albinoni (trumpet and organ)
