THE SITE La Galicière is a former silk mill dating back to the late 18th century, a unique complex in France, whose distinctive features make it an exceptional and unique heritage site. The vagaries of history have brought to our attention workshops equipped with machines, most of which were installed "at the height of the Revolution." GUIDED TOUR The buildings have been listed as a Historic Monument since 2004, and the machines since 2007. Guided tour of the gardens and silk-milling workshops. Visitors are invited to wander around the site and stop as they please to listen to the guides present aspects of La Galicière's history. There is no particular order to follow; it's up to the visitor to unfold their own thread... SARA FAVRIAU EXHIBITION A discussion around the work of Sara Favriau by curator and art historian Nathalie Viot. The encounter between contemporary art and heritage is a rich and fruitful dynamic that transcends simple aesthetic considerations. It opens a dialogue between the past and the present. It is a powerful tool for raising awareness about the preservation and appreciation of heritage. Supporting heritage awareness through contemporary art makes sense to La Galicière. The association is convinced of the relevance of this complementarity. This is a way to raise awareness and introduce local schoolchildren to climate issues through the work of Sara Favriau and her dialogue with the heritage of La Galicière. The association aims to contribute to the revitalization of the Galicière site by supporting the owners in their garden project through the installation of contemporary works of art. Art historian and curator Nathalie Viot, working closely with the region's cultural institutions, will feature artists whose work will reveal both the surroundings and the territory, enriching the real world and inviting visitors to pay particular attention to the rural environment and its industrial heritage. This associative collection of around ten sculptures will question both the status of these non-manipulated works and that of their owners. Created in situ and during residencies, these works will by their very nature be removed from the circuit of galleries, art centers, and museums. To discover them, art lovers will have to explore the countryside. CAFÉ DES INCONNUS At the Café des Inconnus, refreshments and treats are offered by the association Les Amis de la Galicière. Informations Adult: 2€/pers Free for children under 18 and students
