Visit of the Moulin du Bourg

With three pairs of millstones, the mill was still in operation in 1896. Beside, witnesses of the daily life of the chaillandaises, the lavoir was a very lively place, where they met to wash clothes and exchange the latest news from the country. Built in the nineteenth century, the communal washing mill had a movable floor to raise it during a flood. From 14:00 to 18:00 the Moulin du Bourg will open its doors.
