The Museum of Marine Troops offers its new temporary exhibition for the year 2025, with an unprecedented immersion in Napoleonic history. On 18 June 1815, Napoleon engaged in his last great battle on the plain of Waterloo. In front of him, a coalition of several European nations that are preparing to change the course of history. The Museum of Marine Troops invites you to relive this decisive confrontation through a spectacular exhibition designed for a wide audience. At the heart of the exhibition, a monumental diorama 25m long by 6m wide, gives life to the battle with more than 22,000 tin figurines, hand painted by the artist-director of this exceptional set. Thanks to an innovative animation, visitors will attend the key moments of the battle, through a dynamic video mapping, sound effects, projections, a voice-over... An exceptional selection of objects from the 1st Empire will also immerse the public in the universe of Napoleon’s soldiers. Thought for a wide audience, the exhibition will offer a booklet-games allowing families and young visitors to discover one of the greatest battles in military history in a fun and educational way.
