Guided tour of the temporary exhibition «Bargoin en Combrailles».
This original exhibition brings together archaeological objects discovered in Combrailles and from the collections of the Bargoin Museum of Clermont-Ferrand, historical partner of the Voingt museum. The culmination of a scientific project that lasted nearly two years, with a resumption of inventories from the Bargoin Museum and an exhaustive inventory of all objects from the hundred or so communes of Puydômoises constituting the current territory of the Combrailles. This selection allowed for the selection of about twenty works likely to be exhibited. It was associated with an in-depth documentary research on these objects but also on their donors, the opportunity to evoke the scholars and personalities related to archaeology in this territory of the Combrailles. Until then kept in the reserves of the Bargoin museum, these objects return to their original lands to be exhibited for the very first time. The exhibition panels, associated with the display cases, offer the opportunity to update knowledge on these objects. Even if some are devoid of precise archaeological context, apart from the locality of discovery, they nevertheless allow to reconstruct part of the history of the Combrailles, from the end of Prehistory until the early Middle Ages.
