Aperçu
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, enjoy a guided tour of this church classified as a historical monument, illustrated with many anecdotes. You will notably discover:
- Philibert de Chalon, Prince of Orange, leader of the armies of Charles V, depicted on a mural The Adoration of the Magi, from the beginning of the 16th century, in the guise of a wizard;
- Huguette de Sainte-Croix, accused of having her husband, Étienne de Saint-Dizier, lord of the castle murdered in 1319;
- Lacuzon, defender of the castle of Saint-Laurent-la-Roche during the conquest of Franche-Comté by Louis XIV. The church also contains paintings and statues from the 15th and 16th centuries, witnesses of the history of the village and Franche-Comté. This year, the church also hosts an exhibition Embroidered banner: Gigny, Baume, Cluny. Last year, forty embroiderers created a banner composed of forty embroidered rosettes. Explanatory panels take up each motif and place it in the history of the village and the church.
