His approach and artistic research are essentially concretized in the implementation of audiovisual devices. Erik Chevalier offers throughout his works, his installations, a reflection on the status and uses of the moving image and its perception. Attached to the encounter, he settles regularly in the public space, summoning the spectator to a place where he is not likely to encounter a work of art. His installations, created on site, aim to restore a "spirit of the place" whether in a village square or within a modest schoolyard. They initiate a real physical encounter with the visitor where their wandering, their voice and even their shadow are always welcome.
