Visit to a local history museum, Musée de France
Built between 1900 and 1905 in a neo-Renaissance style, the museum houses collections that testify to the history of the city and its nearby region, from prehistoric times to modern times. A rich archaeological collection from the Bronze and Iron Age provides information on a culture that has flourished in the Haguenau forest. It is completed by the Gallo-Roman period, with exceptional objects like the Roman legionary helmet. Several rooms are dedicated to the history of the city since its founding in the 12th century. The museum also has a beautiful collection of Hannong earthenware, as well as Art Nouveau and Art Deco glass. Book
