With a range of arts, crafts and creative skills showcased, there’s something for everyone to discover. Access to these usually private or open-by-appointment spaces is limited, so the weekend is a unique opportunity to see works in progress, be inspired, and make a day of it on Bressay! Speldiburn will be open 11am – 4pm, and is home to several artists’ studios, arts and craft for a sale, and a gallery. At Speldiburn, also enjoy a lunch and homebake in our welcoming café and browse the Good As New Shop. The Bressay Heritage Centre will also be open and look out for bairns’ activities too! This is a free event. Accessible toilets, baby changing facilities, and refreshments are available at Speldiburn. Some home open spaces may not be fully wheelchair accessible – please check our adverts for full details, and for parking details. At Speldiburn There is a baby changing space on site (located in the accessible toilet). There are chairs throughout the building for those who have difficulty standing, and a wheelchair is available on site. Assistance dogs welcome and a bowl for dogs’ water is available. Travel to Speldiburn Take the Bressay ferry from Lerwick, just a 7-min crossing. From the ferry terminal, follow the main road around past the Kirk until you get to the crossroads, and take the first left. You’ll see the Hall, and Speldiburn is located in the former school, a little further on and the other side of the road. It takes just a few minutes to drive or is a pleasant 20 minute walk. Speldiburn has parking available on-site, though spaces are sometimes limited during busy times, so car-sharing is encouraged.
