Aperçu

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, discover two exhibitions, at the church and the foyer Le Mille club, on the evolution of the church from the year 1000 to the present day and the village in the 19th and early 20th century. At the church, you will discover the evolution of the building from its genesis in the 10th century to the present day. From the original watchtower to the current monument, unsuspected stages will be revealed to you. How to imagine that more than a thousand years separate us from the first builders? You will be surprised to learn the adventures that this essential building of our heritage has experienced. The mural painting, a true jewel of this small place of worship, will be commented in its smallest details. But why do we say "the" painting, since two paintings still co-exist in the 21st century? At the Mille Club, the village of yesteryear will be revealed to you. From its charming representation on the map of Cassini to the Napoleonic cadastres, from authentic documents of the first municipal councils to the first postcards, the entire exhibition will immerse you in a moving journey. Around these two exhibition centers, you can discover here and there, in the town, reproductions of old postcards from Buffières. Of the buildings still very present, we will show you a disturbing past, when the horse-drawn carriages rubbed the women with hats and when the macadam had not yet covered the clay. A village where it was already good to live. Informations Free access Accessibility
