Digital accessibility of the cultural heritage of the village

The Cultural Association of La Chapelle-d'Angillon, particularly sensitive to the issue of digital accessibility for people with disabilities, has in its office three concerned members, including the project leader. This direct experience pushes us to innovate to allow everyone to access our heritage, even from a distance. Faced with the growing difficulties of travel, we deemed it essential to document our village in a digital form. Thus, we have launched an initiative to digitize our heritage through a 3D scanning process that allows the creation of "point clouds" for making immersive films.

A digitized heritage: example of the Saint-Jacques church

In 2024 for the Heritage Days, the Saint-Jacques church and its cemetery were digitized as a concrete example of the digital transformation of heritage. In collaboration with c3D France and its partners, we are creating an innovative prototype project combining digital engineering and audiovisual art. This project uses the 3D data collected during digitization to bring virtual spaces to life. Objectives of the 3D Film This 3D film will have several objectives: 1. Promote our territory: To introduce the richness of our heritage to a wider audience. 2. Reinventing heritage through digital: Showing how technology can renew the way we perceive and interact with our cultural heritage. 3. Foster collaboration and creation: Share this 3D data to encourage the development of new cultural and artistic projects, while strengthening social ties, including between generations. 4. Preserve and transmit: Leave a lasting trace of our heritage, accessible to future generations in an innovative and adaptable form.

Scanning forecast for c3D France

• The church and its cemetery were scanned during the 2024 Heritage Days; • The castle served as a small demonstration in the summer of 2024. This big work must be continued; • The pilgrimage of Saint-Jacques de Saxeau, founder of the Chapelle d'Angillon in the 9th century. He had come from Byzantium to the East and had been sent to this place by the abbey of Saint-Sulpice de Bourges • The places that were bombed on June 18, 1940 with integration of historical photos; • The green sensation

We welcome you to a workshop to present the equipment and how digitization works.

We will present you films on the work already accomplished.

Depending on the weather, a demonstration can take place outside.
