Aperçu

From archaeological remains to the Edgar Faure Room, via the Victor Hugo Room, discover the heritage of the Hôtel de Région on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. The construction of the underground car park of the Regional Council gave rise, in 1989 and 1990, to two campaigns of archaeological excavations which brought to light important vestiges of the Roman era, including part of the aqueduct which supplied the city of Besançon with drinking water, the remains of a theatre from the first century AD, as well as a mosaic dating from the 160’s to 190’s. Discover this heritage on a self-guided tour, with your family using a game booklet or on a guided tour from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm (last departure: 5:30 pm). The Edgar Faure Hall, located in the current «Convention» building, was set up between 1985 and 1989 to welcome until 2016 the regional elected representatives in assembly. An exhibition on the skills of the Region is presented. Visit it freely from 1pm to 6pm. An exhibition on the Exceptional women is also available in the Victor Hugo room: an opportunity to highlight our matrimony and discover the portrait of 10 women who have marked regional history, on a free visit from 1 pm to 6 pm.
