Aperçu
Tribute to the resistance fighters of the Moulin de Beyssenac
It was between Beyssenac and Payzac, on the border of the Corrèze and the Dordogne, that a group of resistance fighters found refuge. On February 16, 1944, the mill was surrounded by German troops: after having surrendered, 34 maquisards were summarily executed on the spot. Three escaped the massacre, twelve were deported, and five never returned from the concentration camps. The mill today hosts an exhibition in tribute to the 49 victims, to bring their memory alive and convey the history of this high place of resistance. Informations Free and free admission.
