Located on the heights of the village of Jouques, the Domaine Saint-Antonin opens its doors exceptionally on the occasion of the European Heritage Days. Passed from generation to generation since its acquisition in 1633 by Annibal Thus, canon of the cathedral of Fréjus, this private domain extends over close to 100 hectares of forests and fields. It retains several notable architectural elements of the 17th century : an emblematic dovecote, a chapel still consecrated, as well as remains of the original bastide. The estate also has typical Provençal rural heritage : mas, cabanon, sheepfold, retention basin, and old irrigation systems linked to the Canal de Provence. This weekend is an invitation to stroll, discovering the biodiversity local (wildlife, conservation actions carried out on the site) and to meet the history of the place and its inhabitants. On the agenda: 📷 Photo exhibition – “Saint-Rémy and its region, 1900-1910” Prints from negatives on glass plates kept at the Domaine, rare testimony of the Provence of yesteryear through the eyes of the Sicard sisters. 🎨 Santon Exhibition – “TOUN, la tradition santonnière au Domaine Saint-Antonin” Presentation of a selection of old mussels and santons made in the first half of the twentieth century by the great-grandmother of the current owner of the estate. 🖥️ Visit the WDA collections The Association de préservation du patrimoine informatique opens the doors of its workshops and offers you a journey through the history of digital technology. 🌿 Free ride to discover the estate, its architecture, its landscapes and its memory.
