The cradle of the city, between novel and history

Founded in the 9th century, the former Benedictine abbey church of Figeac marks the starting point of the urban history of the city. Rebuilt from the end of the 11th century in a Romanesque style, it illustrates, by the diversity of its architectural styles, the dynamism of medieval construction in Figeac. 🎨 Restored after the Wars of Religion, it was enriched in the 19th century with a remarkable interior decor, including a set of stained glass windows of great wealth.
