After several months of confinement, the artists Mariotte Parot and Marie Bouvier created Entre les barreaux, a show exploring how confined bodies can play, dance and perform. Their approach questions the impact of imprisonment on women and resonates with their reading of Goliarda Sapienza’s Rebibbia University, which deals with the experience of women in prison. In this environment, intimate and social relationships are exacerbated, and despite their differences, the inmates manage to invent a daily mobility, becoming forgotten individualities whose ties are shaped by this enclosed space.
