On the Promenade Charles Dickens, at the top of the ramparts, take advantage of your stroll to discover the new heritage signage combining history, archaeology, archives, and panoramas of the city. Access by the Porte des Dunes, at the top of the Grande Rue, or by the 3 other gates of the fortified City: Porte des Degrés, Porte Gayole and Porte Neuve. For people with reduced or difficult mobility, prefer access by the Gayole Gate where there is a gentle slope. Opening hours of the ramparts from 7:30 am to 10 pm
