Complet This year again, the inter-regional directorate of prison services and the Dijon prison will welcome visitors as part of the European Heritage Days. The prison administration therefore invites visitors on Sunday, September 21, 2025. Four tours of 1h15 will be offered to the general public (on prior registration – terms below) to discover the prison estate of Dijon, as well as the prison whose building was built by the departmental architect Jean-Philippe Suisse, between 1852 and 1860. Four time slots for visits are proposed (upon registration) on Sunday 21 September at 9:30 am, 11 am, 2 pm and 3:30 pm (20 people maximum per time slot). The visit is reserved for adults without ties to detained persons and includes passage under a security portal and a metal detector. The identity card will be requested at the entrance of the estate. Cameras and mobile phones are not allowed within the prison (they can be placed in lockers provided for this purpose).
