Who are we?

Our group is formed by five membres, Flabia, Vitoria, Vicky y Araceli, students from the San Bernardo school.

Each of us has been a fundemental part of the project. We all have searched for information, in different places in Madrid.  We are going to explain the different tasks we carried out:

• Flabia: she has researched information about Sol,explaining his history and some fun facts. She also has helped us to record the video, making sure everything filmed at the right moment.
• Vitoria: she has reasearched the history and some fun facts of Cibeles, and she has been the main source of ideas in the edition as well as in the process.
• Vicky: she has researched information about El Parque del Retiro, and with some fun facts about this place. She also has edited the video with so much effort.
• Araceli: she has worked on the history, fun facts and general about La Catedral de la Almudena. She was also one of the main contributors to the wrtitten document.

The experience of each one is more subjective, so, each of us will expose their point of view in the different sections:

• Flabia: “I have enjoyed this project. There were moments when we didn´t know what to do, but we have worked together to solve the different problems, and I have learnt new things”
• Vitoria “I think this record was very interesting, because we could learn Madrid´s heritage in english to show you the esence of Madrid”
• Vicky: “my opinion, is that this project was very interesting because we have learnt a lot of our city.
• Araceli: “ I love the experience. Each of the steps has been something new to learn and to enjoy, this project has been a step to improve our knowledge.

Why did we decide to participate in this English contest?

We have decided to participate in this contest, because we know that every experience makes you different and you enjoy it, even more so if it’s with friends, and it’s an opportunity to know more about Madrid, research and go to these different places and enjoy every phase of the project.

Why have we chosen these places?

The reason why we have chosen each one of these places is both because of obejective and subjective reasons, because, some of these places have been very important to us since our childhood.

• El Parque del Retiro: we have chosen this place, because is a place with too much historical-cultural legacy, also, it is one of Madrid´s hearts with many species, both plants and animals.
• La  Catedral de la Almudena: we have been a lot in this place, because there live the patrones of Madrid, with a very interesting legend that every teacher tells to their students.
• Cibeles: this place was very interesting for us because of its beauty, architecture, and also every details of the historical and cultural of this place.
• Sol: this place has been chosen because is an iconic place in Madrid. There we celebrate the twelve grapes tradition in New Year’s Eve.

The project process

In this project we have followed different essential phases to carry out for the preparation of the project. These are the different phases that we followed to organise our project:

1. Phase 1: in this phase we elaborated a list of ideas, the place that we were going to choose, the edition app, different videos to inspire us, the essential tools to do the project, and more.
2. Phase 2: after having our list of ideas, we decided the final focus (what place we were going to choose, what we were going to talk about them...), after this, we distributed the different tasks to each of us, but always, supporting between us, with different points of view.
3. Phase 3: in this phase each member did an investigation about the places, that we chose. Then, each member exposed their information, and we said if we agreed or disagreed, and how we could do it better.
4. Phase 4: after organising and distributing, we recorded the video, always trying to do our best and taking good photos and videos.
5. Phase 5: the last thing we did was to edit our video to do it more entertaining, more beautiful, and in our own style.

What have we learnt ?

We have learnt too much in this project. Each step has required patience and work, but with the mutual support, everything in the project was more enjoyable, funnier and easier. Also we could improve our friendship and the communication between us.  Wihout any doubt this project is a great experience and we recommend it to every student.
