Built by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch and opened in 1845. St Mary’s was designed by architects William Burns and David Bryce, in early English style, with high double hammerbeam roof, vaulting in the chancel, magnificent stained glass windows made in France, and heraldic floor tiles by Minton. We also are home to the only regularly used, Hamilton water powered organ in Scotland.
For Doors Open Days members of the congregation on hand to show people round and answer questions. Refreshments available.
